If you miss your exit on an expressway, don't stop, back up, or try to turn around. Doing so greatly increases the likelihood of a collision. In New Mexico, it is illegal to back up on a limited-access highway. Instead, continue to the next exit and find a way to double back from there. [NM Stat § 66-7-354]
