The stopping distance of your vehicle depends on which of the following factors?
Your stopping distance is the sum of your perception distance, reaction distance, and braking distance. Perception distance is how far your car travels until your brain recognizes the need to stop. Reaction distance is how far your car travels until your foot obeys your brain's order to step on the brake. And, of course, braking distance is how far your car travels while your brakes are slowing it to a stop.
