Question:
North Dakota law requires all front-seat occupants and all occupants under 18 to wear a seat belt or suitable child restraint. However, even rear-seat adult passengers should wear seat belts. Seat belts have been proven to save lives and reduce injuries รขยย even in the rear seat. A study conducted in 2015 by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Children's Hospital of Philadephia found that unrestrained rear-seat occupants were nearly eight times as likely to sustain a serious injury in a crash as restrained rear-seat occupants. Seat belts are designed to work alone or in conjunction with airbags. Airbags are dangerous when seat belts are not worn.
