Speed limits are posted for ideal conditions. However, Kentucky law requires you to always drive at a speed that is safe for current road conditions. You may be cited for driving too fast for current road conditions, even if you are not exceeding the posted speed limit. In rainy weather, reduce your speed by 5 – 10 mph at least. You should also switch on your headlights to make your vehicle more visible. Do not use the cruise control on wet roads.
