When you drive a modern car equipped with airbags, keep both hands on opposite sides of the steering wheel: The nine o'clock and three o'clock positions, or even the eight o'clock and four o'clock positions. The driver's-side airbag deploys at very high speed out of the steering wheel. If your hands are higher on the steering wheel than nine o'clock and three o'clock, the deploying airbag could push your hands into your face, injuring you.
