A 16- or 17-year-old student driver who is restricted under Alabama's Graduated Driver's License Program can operate a vehicle between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m. if accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or licensed adult over the age of 21; if they are traveling to or from work; if they are traveling to or from a church or school-sponsored event; or if they are driving because of an emergency situation.
