Question:
Under South Carolina law, if an adult driver is convicted of giving alcohol to a person under 21, his or her license will be suspended for one year for a second or subsequent offense. He or she will also be fined $400 â $500, imprisoned for up to 30 days, or both. There are some exceptions, however. This law does not apply to an adult who gives beer or wine to his or her underage spouse or underage child in their home. Nor does it apply to an adult who gives beer or wine to an underage person as part of some religious ceremony. [Alcohol and Controlled Substance; Keeping Your License; South Carolina Driver's Manual], [SC Code § 61-4-90]
