High beams can improve your visibility when you drive at night. However, you are required to dim your high beams around other motorists. When must you dim your lights?

A When you are within 500 feet of an oncoming vehicle, or less than 300 feet behind another vehicle

You must dim your high beams when you come within 500 feet of any approaching vehicle. You must also dim your high beams whenever you are less than 300 feet behind another vehicle. You should not use your high beams in well lit areas. [K.S.A. 8-1725]
