A Maine driver's license or learner's driving permit is required for any resident of the state who wants to operate a motor vehicle in Maine. A written test, a vision screening, and a road test are all part of the examination. The ME DMV written test assesses your knowledge and grasp of road signs, traffic laws, driving skills, and vehicle handling. The Maine Driver's Manual contains all of the information you'll need. There are 60 questions on the DMV written test. You are permitted to miss 2 of the 10 questions about road signs and 10 of the 50 questions about road rules in order to pass the knowledge test.
